While you are stirring pots, I will be banging out Armor and Weapons. These will be my 2 main Prof. My alt is doing Tailoring and Handicrafting which I believe is the best option for a Sin because the Tailoring not only does cloth, but also Leather and Handicrafting makes bows as well as jewelry. With my 2 characters doing those 4 Prof, Darthspike is left with the other 2 :)

Gotta love multitasking :P

I *was* going to try my hand at several different professions, simply because I could. But my goodness crafting is EXPENSIVE. So, I think I'll just stick with one craft for now. I went with Handicrafting, because I'm in a legion that seems to have every other craft covered. I just wasn't expecting to go through so much Kinah gaining levels!

I hear you on the EXPENSIVE. Unfortunately I think the word is out on Alchemy becasue that crafting room is packed on my server.

Alchemy has turned out to be VERY lucrative, and been helping me pay my way thru crafting. Remember all that Aria/Azpha you might have collected in newbieland - well they make Lesser Healing Potions. I am selling mine for a comparitive discount to my competitors, 300 Kinah each potion, and I sell packacges with a discounted unit price of 5 (5%), 10(10%), 25 (20%), and 50 (30%). I make Mana potions too, but the health potions are my best seller.

Using JUST the Aria/Azpha you can collect at newbie land, not counting the bottles (50-60ish kinah depending on the taxes for your side on your server) and the Elemental Water you can make from stones that drop from various mobs...the only real cost for hp pots is the bottles; for 100 pots say 600 on the bottles - but my profit is between 21k and 30k factoring in the discounts. The best part is that these pots sell well both in the large bundles and the singles. Someone stocking up for leveling an Alt might want a stack of them. Someone who just wants 1 or 2 gets them too.

The amazing part is that the 4 potions I make are usable for levls 1 thru 20ish, which is to say that the amount of HP or mana they heal is significant for that level range - so everyone needs them and everyone uses them. Its a good way to make lots of small money that adds up. At bare minimum it pays for all the components needed for crafting.

Cooking has not been looking so well. The lowest level food is like 15-30 per item, and for the recipes up to cooking50 the cost seem to be abuot 60 each. When I go to the broker, people are practically giving them away, even the Tasty ones (when you crit a food it gets Tasty). I have seen unit prices near cost on these, and a lot of them, so the market has settled on these prices. Cooking might offer some benefit, but not near the margin that Alchemy.

And the word is out, and lots of crafters are in the Alchemy room cranking out pots and putting them on the Broker. Fortunately most have not figured out what they are worth and charge the broker default (I call it bsrp).

Hmm, sounds like I may need to get on the Alchemy bandwagon, if even only to break even on crafting the other skills... Thanks for the heads up, but I'll keep it just between me and you! *wink*
