Error fixing guide for Aion online:
First: when you install the game, make a backup of the install directory (the one you installed the game in). -backup= copy-paste it to an other location on your hard-drive. I use my external drive-
Every time a patch occurs, make a new backup of that directory.
Always keep your 2 latest backups (one of the working version, one of the just-patched version)
that way when anything goes wrong(patch error, corrupted files...) follow the steps below:
- Delete your current Aion Online folder (the install path)
- Copy the backup folder to a new location (the folder you want your Aion client to be in -this can be the same folder you used to have for your original install path-)
- If patch is necessary, download it and apply the patch, it'll ask for the install path, pick your freshly copied folder -hint: download your patches from external locations, this way when anything goes wrong, you can use these steps to fix it-
- Open NCsoft launcher
- Right click Aion Online and click "Properties"
- Click "Browse" and select your new Aion folder
- Allow the compatibility test to apply
- Play
