Hello! I'm new to the forum and the game and I wanted to say hi. I chose a mage for my first character and I'm not sure whether to go into a sorcerer or spiritmaster. I'm leaning towards sorcerer because the spells appeal to me more but I don't really know. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate the input!

Welcome! I feel more comfortable with melee classes so really have no personal opinion. However, I do have two good friends who play Spiritmasters and they're very worried about not being useful in groups together as their dots don't stack. I'm not sure yet if that is a bug or if it will be changed eventually; but, as it stands now they can apparently solo pretty well but when grouping together they step on each others' toes, rendering one nearly useless.

Thanks for the info, I think I will go sorcerer after all. I like to solo quite a bit, but it'd be good to be versatile if I want to join up in groups.

Here's one reason to be a SM though, the pets look killer at higher levels!
